Willie Mae Schneider Peterson

Willie Mae Peterson passed away July 19, 2012, at the age of 82 at her home in Dallas. Born to Alvin & Annie Schneider and raised in Hallettsville, Texas, she became an LVN, graduating from the Renger Hospital Nursing School in the first class of Licensed Vocational Nursing students. Besides nursing, she enjoyed most her job as a stay-at-home mom. Her humble beginnings were the foundation of her life, devoting herself to her late husband, Dr. Donald M. Peterson, and her five children.

Willie Mae was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Don; her parents Alvin & Annie Schneider; her brother Alvin Schneider Jr.; and two grandchildren, Vicki and Wilma Hartsfield,

Willie Mae is survived by her five children, Donald M. Peterson, Jr. and wife Carol, Susan Hartsfield and husband Stephen, Dr. Patricia Peterson Fontenot and her husband Terry, Esther Watkins and her husband Lynn, and David Peterson and wife Ronda; six grandchildren, Andi Wethington and husband Drew, Kara Peterson, Morgan Hartsfield, Taylor Watkins, and Logan and Madison Peterson; sisters, Evelyn Hoffer and husband Leo, Georgie Bludau, Dollie Leopold, and Elaine Janak and husband Guntram; sister-in- law, Judy Schneider; brothers-in law, Robert Peterson, and Jim Harned and wife Suzanne; ad numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
 
Her smile, her compassion, her adoration of her children and grandchildren and her love and concern for her sisters and their families will be missed. She delighted in helping her family. She was a loving wife, sister, friend, but most importantly, she was a loving mom and grandma.

Funeral Mass Service: 12 noon, Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hallettsville, TX. Visitation: 10 am, Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rosary: 11:30 am, Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Officiate: Rev John Peters. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Willie Mae Peterson's memory.
