Paul A. Najvar Sr.

U.S. Veteran

Paul A. Najvar Sr., 92, of Hallettsville, passed away May 17, 2012. He was born on Jan. 14, 1920 to John & Agnes Janacek Najvar in Lavaca County, Texas. He married Leona Vasek on June 20, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. He was a member of the American Legion Post 230, Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, KJT, Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Department, Hallettsville City Counsel, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Paul is survived by: son Paul Najvar Jr. & wife Mary Beth of Hallettsville; daughter Lori Najvar & husband Glen Chappell of Austin; and 3 grandsons, Paul III, Mitch and Bryce.

Paul was preceded in death by: his wife Leona; son Robert “Bobby” Najvar; parents; 5 brothers, Vaclav “Jim”, Hubert, Felix, John and Jan Najvar; and 5 sisters, Leona, Julie, Theresa and Helen Najvar, and Mary Helen Strauss.

Funeral Mass Service: 10 am, Monday, May 21, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. Visitation: 5 pm, Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home. Rosary: 6 pm, Sunday at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiate: Rev. John Peters. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Memorials: Hallettsville Volunteer Fire Department, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or Hospice of South Texas.
